Carretero Romay

Ana Carretero Romay is Associate Professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). She obtained her Veterinary Sciences degree at the Zaragoza University and performed her PhD studies in UAB, on development of the kidney vascular system in chick embryos. After postdoctoral stays at the Vienna University (Austria) and Cornell University (EEUU), she became Associate Professor in Veterinary Anatomy at UAB. From 2007 until 2014, she was the coordinator of the Anatomy and Embryology Unit at UAB and for more than 30 years she has been teaching general anatomy and embryology and also mouse anatomy in a UAB master.

Recently she has participated as professor in the three editions of the “Morphological Mouse Phenotyping: Embryology, Anatomy, Histology and Imaging” PATHBIO Summer Course. Dra. Carretero has participated in different competitive research projects and has widely published in numerous international journals. She also is the author of several books on Anatomy of different animal species. The “Morphological Mouse Phenotyping, Anatomy, Histology and Imaging” book is her most important contribution in the field.
