Graça Alexandre-Pires is Full Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMV)-University of Lisbon, Portugal and Researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Animal Health (CIISA/FMV) and at the Associate Laboratory for Animal and Veterinary Sciences (AL4AnimalS). Degree in Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (1995), Morphology speciality (Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal). Responsible for the coordination of the area of Anatomy and its Curricular Units as well as for the Anatomy and Physiology Unit of the course of Zoo-technical Engineering.
Has coordinated several pedagogical innovative projects, several internal research ones (CIISA) and has been participating in several international ones. Supervised master thesis and PhD work. Author or co-author of over than 60 peer-reviewed articles. Co-author of three book chapters. Responsible for the organisation of several and curator of five anatomical exhibitions under the name “Discourse on the anatomical method”.
