Panagiotis Petrantonakis was born in Ierapetra, Crete in 1984. He received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 2007 and his Ph.D. in 2011 from the same institution. During 2012-2016 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) and, from 2017 to 2022, a postdoctoral researcher at the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research and Technology – Hellas (CERTH). Since June 2022, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at AUTh. He has published more than 40 papers in peer reviewed journals and conferences in the field of signal processing and machine learning with applications on biomedical engineering, neural information processing and large-scale data analysis. He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letters and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
