Nacher Garcia

Víctor Nacher Garcia is Associate Professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He obtained his Biological Sciences degree at the UAB and performed his PhD studies in the Bellvitge Hospital at the Universitat de Barcelona, on beta cell growth in pancreatic islet transplantation. In 2000, he obtained an assistant professor position in the Anatomy and Embryology Unit at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the UAB and in 2010 he became professor. From 2014 until now, he is the coordinator of the Anatomy and Embryology Unit of the School of Veterinary Medicine. During more than twenty years he has participated in teaching general anatomy and embryology in the School of Veterinary Medicine and also mouse anatomy in Master studies in the Biological Sciences Faculty.

Recently he has participated as professor in the three editions of the PATHBIO Summer Anatomy Course. Related to this field, he is author of different chapters of the book Morphological Mouse Phenotyping: Anatomy, Histology and Imaging. His research interest focus on the study of diabetes and related complications and processes as regeneration, cellular senescence, cell death and gene therapy, in the pancreas, kidney and retina, participating in more than ten competitive research projects.
